About this course
On this beginners-level yoga course you will specifically learn and experience the calming and stress-relieving practices of yoga.
THIS IS COURSE IS FOR YOU:

• anyone wanting to understand and bring balance to their thoughts, emotions and beliefs
• anyone who would like to properly understand the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga
• anyone who would like to experience yoga beyond the poses you might learn at your usual class
• anyone who may be chronically stressed and/or needs to rest deeply;
• anyone simply wanting a gentle, relaxed yoga experience at an introductory level.
• anyone who may have tried different 'styles' of yoga previously and didn't like or benefit from the experience
• anyone wanting an understanding of the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga;
• kids are welcome and come at no charge when attending with their parent/s (please specify when booking).

What you receive
- A gentle, systematic and safe introduction to the calming practices of yoga.​
- 4 or 5 weekly lessons which are of 90 minutes (4 week course) or 75 minutes (5 week course) duration each.
- Easy and accessible yoga practices. Modifications and alternate practices given as needed​ (for instance if injury or limitation is a factor)
- Home practice sheets with diagrams of every pose and sequence you learn.

What to expect
- Please arrive early to register, relax and unwind before the class.
- Kookaburra Creek Yoga Centre is a rural property 2 km from Armadale. The entrance drive and carpark is gravel so please wear sturdy shoes.
- We request that you reverse park where possible and take up as little space as possible.
- There is a top carpark close to the studio which is level with disabled access.
- The class is for 90 minutes and includes a short introductory talk, centering meditation, yoga breathing practices, warm up practices, yoga sequences, relaxation.
- If you arrive late come in quietly and sit at the back.
- We email you a 100 page e-book which includes practice sheets, background information, questions for journal writing, and diagrams of poses and practices learnt during the course.
What to wear and bring
- No need to bring a mat or equipment. We provide all the equipment you will need, including yoga mats, blankets, bolsters and cushions. Chairs available if needed.
- We don't wear shoes during yoga so please leave shoes outside and also please to endeavour to have clean feet.
- We'll be moving, stretching, sitting and lying down so wear comfortable clothes you can exercise in.
- Bring your own non-breakable drinking water bottle.
- Please don't interrupt other students. If you bring your mobile have it on silent mode.
